Gender inequality has been a rising issue. Women don’t have equal pay nor do they have equal representation. This blog focuses on the gender inequality in higher education. I think the fact that women aren’t represented equally in higher education is crazy. The statistics show that there are more female students in college so why aren’t there more female faculty? Also if there are more women in the schools doesn’t it make sense to have a women president? Only twenty-eight percent of university presidents are women though. The majority should have more representation, or at least equal, but in this case the majority is underrepresented. It’s time America has gender equality. White males aren’t the majority anymore and America needs to realize that.

      Hi Katelynn!

Thanks so much for your feedback. It’s really interesting to see how the information doesn’t meet our expectations or impressions of what it should be. It seems like gender equality is very important to you, hopefully you’ll be part of the solution and help make a difference!

I really enjoy reading your blog! The term “higher education” is definitely something that a lot of people get confused about, so I like how you explain what it means. I loved reading the “women in higher education” post and the graphic that went along with it. I think it’s both shocking and sad at the same time that only 27% of college presidents are women, while 57% of all college students are women. Hopefully someday that number will be higher than 27%. Great blog!
